1. Data controller
The data controller for Hundeskovene.dk is:
Ninja Media ApS
Elsdyrvej 7
6000 Kolding, Denmark
CVR no.: 36555386
Email: vov@hundeskovene.dk
2. What data do we process?
We only process the data needed to provide our service. Which data we process depends on how you use Hundeskovene.dk.
When you create an account or submit a dog park
When you add a new dog park, suggest a correction or write a review, we process:
- First name and surname
- Email address
- The content of your submission or review
- IP address (for spam prevention via Cloudflare Turnstile - website only)
We process this data so we can moderate content, contact you if we have questions about your submission, and prevent misuse. Submissions and reviews are kept for as long as the park is published. When you ask us to delete your account, your reviews are anonymised within 30 days - your name is removed, but the review itself stays, as it is part of the park's overall rating.
When you give a dog park stars
You can give a dog park stars with one tap without logging in. The rating is anonymous: we store the number of stars and the date, and, if you tapped "I'm here now", whether you were at the park. To stop the same person rating the same park many times, we also store an encrypted code (a so-called hash) calculated from your IP address and browser type. The IP address itself is not stored, and we only use the code to recognise repeat ratings - never to find out who you are. The code is deleted automatically after 120 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing misuse of the ratings (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). On the website, Cloudflare Turnstile is also used as described above.
When you upload photos of a dog park
When you upload photos on the website or in the app, we store who uploaded them. If you are logged in, we store your account and the e-mail address the account was created with. If you are not logged in, we store the e-mail address you enter in the form. If you have allowed us to use your location, we also store how far from the dog park you were and whether you were there, but not your location itself. We also keep a full-size copy of the photo, which is not public.
Your details are never shown on the website or in the app. We use them to approve photos, to know who holds the rights to a photo, and to be able to contact you about your photo. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in moderating content and managing photo rights (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Photos stay on the dog park's page as long as the park is published, or until you ask us to remove them. If you delete your account, we remove your account and e-mail address from the photos.
When you log in with Google, Apple or Facebook
If you log in with one of these services, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a user ID from the service. We only use them to create and recognise your account, so you can save favourites, give stars and write reviews. If you write a review with text, only your first name and the initial of your surname are shown, and your email address is never shown. We do not share the data with others or use it for marketing. The service itself handles your login under its own terms.
When you sign up for the newsletter
When you sign up, we process your name and email address. We send newsletters via SendFox and do not pass your email on to others. You can always unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of every newsletter. If you unsubscribe, we keep the data for up to 2 years so we can document your original consent.
When you use the app (iOS / Android)
Our apps use Firebase Analytics to understand how the features are used. If you have consented to location data, we use your position for the "find dog parks near me" feature - it does not leave your phone and is not shared with us.
Camera and photos: When you add photos of a dog park, you can take them with the app's camera or choose them from your own photos. The app asks for permission to use the camera the first time you take a photo, and only uses it while the camera screen is open. Photos are only sent when you tap upload yourself, and appear on the dog park's page once we have approved them. Before they are shown, we turn them into new image files without location or other camera data.
Maps and weather: The app's maps come from our own map server (tiles.hundeskovene.dk, hosted by Cloudflare). If you choose the satellite map, the images come from Esri, which therefore sees your IP address and the area you are looking at. The weather at a dog park - in the app and on the website - comes from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (met.no) using the dog park's coordinates, not your location; met.no sees your IP address.
Crash reports: If you have agreed to share usage data, the app also sends a report via Firebase Crashlytics (Google) if it crashes: where in the app it happened, phone model, operating system and app version. The reports do not contain your name, email or location. If you say no, or withdraw your consent under More → Privacy, no reports are sent.
The app does not use cookies - cookies are a web technology. Instead, it stores data locally on your phone: your favourites, your filter and map choices, and whether you have seen the introduction. This is necessary for the app to do what you ask it to. Analytics, on the other hand, requires your consent, and you can always change it under More → Privacy. There are no ads, no advertising ID (IDFA) and no tracking across other apps or websites. If you delete the app, all local storage is removed.
The app is bought in the App Store or on Google Play, and payment is handled by Apple or Google. We receive no card details or other payment data and are not told who bought the app. There are no in-app purchases.

We collect standard visit data via cookies and similar technologies. Read the details in our Cookie Policy.

- Show relevant dog parks near you
- Contact you about your submissions, reviews or account

We use three categories of cookies: necessary cookies, analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) and marketing cookies (Partner-ads affiliate links and embedded Facebook content).
When you first visit the site, a cookie banner appears where you can accept or reject. Until you have given consent, Google Analytics 4 runs in so-called Consent Mode v2, which only sends anonymised signals without setting cookies on your device.

We keep your personal data for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for:
- Account data - as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days after you ask for your account to be deleted.

- IP addresses from Turnstile (website only) - deleted automatically after 30 days.
