Dog parks in Copenhagen Municipality (Københavns Kommune)

Copenhagen Municipality is dense and urban, yet surprisingly green, with parks, commons, ramparts and coast within cycling distance. From Fælledparken and Amager Fælled to the ramparts around Christianshavn, there are plenty of green breathing spaces in the middle of the city.

For city dogs there is a wide choice of places to get out, whichever part of the city you live in.

The city has a large selection of fenced dog parks, fenced dog areas and green dog areas spread across all districts. In Fælledparken and on Christianshavn Vold your dog can walk in classic Copenhagen surroundings, while Damhusengen and the fenced Nørrebroparken offer space in the western and inner city.

Several places have fenced dog areas with agility, where puppies and city dogs can play and train safely behind a fence.

To the east the municipality reaches all the way to Øresund, where Amager Strandpark has a dedicated dog area by the water. On an official dog beach your dog may swim and run off-lead all year round, as long as it is under control.

On the city's ordinary beaches and bathing zones, however, the normal rules apply: your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March.
