Dog parks on Als

Als is a lush island by Sønderborg, where beech woods, hilly countryside and a long, varied coastline meet Als Sund and Lillebælt (the Little Belt). The island is known for its large woodlands and manor estates, which give shelter and shade all year round. The mix of woodland, beach and open fields makes Als one of the best places in Southern Jutland to walk your dog.

Als has several dog parks in beautiful countryside, including the popular Sønderskoven Hundeskov in Sønderborg and the quiet Lambjerg Indtægt. Here your dog can roam freely among tall trees, with plenty of shade and forest floor to explore. With a handful of dog parks spread across the island, there's good variety wherever you live on Als.

Als has a long coastline with fine bathing beaches along both Als Sund and the Baltic Sea. Remember that on ordinary beaches your dog must be kept on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Outside the bathing season the beaches are a wonderful place for long walks with sea air in your dog's coat.
