Dog parks in and near Copenhagen (København)

Copenhagen (København) offers a surprising amount of nature for a capital, from harbour parks and green corridors to the coast along Øresund and Amager. Whatever the district, you are rarely far from a green oasis where your dog can stretch its legs.

In and around Copenhagen you will find a wealth of woodland dog areas, fenced dog parks and fenced dog playgrounds. The fenced dog area in Fælledparken and the fenced Nørrebroparken are city classics, while Kongelunden Hundeskov on Amager offers real woodland with room to run.

Many of the places are fenced with agility, and several have their own puppy-friendly sections for the youngest dogs.

Along the Øresund and Amager Strand there are designated dog areas and official dog beaches, where your dog may swim and run off-lead all year under control. On the city's ordinary beaches, however, dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September, and only from 1 October to 31 March may your dog run off-lead. Always check the signs so you end up in the right place.
