Dog parks in North Jutland (Nordjylland)

North Jutland is the country's northernmost region, where the Danish North Sea coast and the Kattegat meet at Skagen, and where vast dunes, dune plantations and open heath shape the landscape. The nature is magnificent and windswept, with light over the long coasts and shelter in the many plantations, and wide open skies almost everywhere. That makes the area one of the most beautiful places in Denmark for long dog walks.

North Jutland has a large choice of woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks spread across the whole region. Blokhus Klitplantage and Lundby Krat Hundeskov (fenced) are among the popular places, and several areas offer woodland, shade and room to play. The choice ranges from open grassy dog parks and dune plantations to smaller dog parks with a puppy area.

With coastline facing both the Danish North Sea coast and the Kattegat, there are many beach walks in North Jutland, and the region has one official dog beach where your dog may swim and run off-lead all year round.

On ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September, and only from 1 October to 31 March may your dog run off-lead - always under control. Head for an official dog beach if you want to combine a swim with running off-lead.
