Dog parks in Thisted Municipality (Thisted Kommune)

Thisted Municipality lies in Thy in north-west Jutland (Jylland), squeezed in between the Danish North Sea coast (Vesterhavet) and the Limfjord (Limfjorden). The landscape is shaped by wind, vast dune plantations and Nationalpark Thy (Thy National Park) with dunes, heath and pine forests. The wild nature and many paths make the area a paradise for long walks with your dog.

Thisted Municipality has several dog parks in its large dune plantations. Vilsbøl Klitplantage and Østerild Klitplantage offer woodland, shade and shelter among the pines, and Tingstrup Hundeskov near Thisted is an option close to town. The woods are spread between the towns, so there is always a dog park within reach.

Vigsø has a dog beach where dogs may swim and run off-lead all year on the official stretch. On the municipality's other beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. That way you can enjoy the wide west coast beaches and dunes all year round.

The dog parks in Thisted Kommune are in postcodes 7700 Thisted, 7730 Hanstholm, 7741 Frøstrup and 7755 Bedsted Thy.
