Dog parks in and near Fjerritslev

Fjerritslev lies in Han Herred between Jammerbugten and the Limfjord (Limfjorden), in a landscape of dune plantations, heath and wide open coastland. With the Danish North Sea coast (Vesterhavet) to the north and the fjord to the south, great nature is close by in every direction, which makes the town a lovely base for dog walks by both forest and sea.

In and around Fjerritslev you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks, where your dog can walk sheltered by the pines of the dune plantations. Tranum Hundeskov and Thorup Strand Hundeskov are among the places with forest floor, shade and plenty of space, and several of the plantations stretch all the way out to the coast. The changing nature between plantation and dunes gives variety from walk to walk.

Fjerritslev is a coastal town, and both Jammerbugten and the Limfjord are within reach. On the official dog beach at Vigsø your dog may swim and run free all year round, while on ordinary beaches it must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March - always under control.

Dunes and wide sandy beaches give plenty of room when you follow the rules.
