    Blokhus lies on Jammerbugt bay on the west coast of North Jutland, known for its wide sandy beach and rolling dunes. Behind the town are large dune plantations with pine woods and forest paths. The mix of sea, dunes and woods makes the area ideal for dog walks.

    In and around Blokhus you will find several dog parks and dune plantations where your dog can run off-lead among the trees. Blokhus Klitplantage Hundeskov is right by town, and Nybæk Plantage Hundeskov offers even more woodland to romp in. They offer shade, space and fresh air all year.

    The beach at Blokhus is one of the widest in Denmark, and the North Sea tempts you into long walks along the water. On ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on official dog beaches may your dog swim and run off-lead all year.
