Dog parks in Region Zealand (Region Sjælland)

Region Zealand stretches from the rolling countryside around Roskilde and Sorø down to South Zealand, Møn and the islands of Lolland and Falster. Here lush beech forests, fields and lakes alternate with a long, varied coastline facing the Øresund, Storebælt (the Great Belt) and the Baltic Sea. This mix of woodland and coast gives dog owners plenty of opportunity for both quiet woodland walks and bracing walks by the water.

The region has many woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks spread across the municipalities from Roskilde and Køge to Næstved and Vordingborg. Most are fenced, so your dog can run free safely - for example Pedersborg Hundeskov and the wooded Haslev Hundeskove. Fenced dog parks such as Sneslev Hundepark offer a defined area close by. Many places have agility equipment and a puppy area, so the whole family's dog can use up its energy.

Along the region's coasts there are plenty of places to enjoy the water. Note, though, that on ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. On an official dog beach such as Hundige Hundestrand (not fenced), however, your dog may swim and run free all year - ideal for a swim, whatever the season.
