Kastanielunden hundeskov

Kastanielunden is a fenced dog park of about 2.3 hectares, a little over 3 football pitches. It lies in open countryside by the village of Søndersted, about 11 km west of Tølløse and about 13 km south-west of Holbæk, as part of the small green area Kastanielunden south of Holbækvej. It is a quiet, easy-to-oversee spot in the countryside where your dog can run freely between grassy areas and shrubs. The terrain is gently rolling, and mown grass paths lead around the area. It was originally an open meadow that was planted with trees, and although the trees are growing up, it still feels more like a meadow than a wood. Between the mown strips the grass can be tall. The ground is grass all the way round, and after rain it can get quite wet, so wellies are a good idea in the wet part of the year. The dog park is surrounded by a wire fence of about 1.2 metres. There are benches and rubbish bins, but no water point is recorded, so bring water for your dog. There is free parking right by the south-eastern corner of the fence, and the dog park is open day and night. A little east of the fenced area, outside the fence, there is a shelter with a fire pit, ideal for a packed-lunch break. Here your dog must be on a lead. If you would like more space, Tølløse Hundeskov, about 4 ha, is around 9 km away, and Holbæk Hundefælleden, about 7.4 ha, is around 11 km away. Closer by, about 5 km away, you will find Sønder Jernløse Hundepark.
