Syvendekøb Hundeskov

Syvendekøb Hundeskov, also known as Mørkøv hundepark, is a fenced off-lead area of just under 3 hectares, a little more than 4 football pitches. The dog park lies on the municipal land Syvendekøb Mark and was finished and ready for use in March 2022. The area is run by volunteers from the association Økoland Mørkøv, which has a user agreement with Holbæk Municipality so it can look after the land. The facilities in the dog park itself include a sturdy fence that has been straightened up, as well as new gates and information signs at the entrances. A path runs through the area, and the surrounding bushes and trees have been cut back so it is easy to get through. To keep the place clean, dog owners are clearly asked to take their used dog bags home and not leave them in the wood. The rules for using the dog park are few and simple. Your dog may run off-lead, provided you have full control over it, and it must not be a nuisance or a danger to other dogs or people. It is also stressed that all use of the area is at your own risk. A visit to the dog park combines well with a longer walk on a lead in the neighbouring countryside. The area is being turned from former cornfield into nature close to town and includes, among other things, an area called "Nyskoven". The landscape also has lakes with rich birdlife, where you can see swans, greylag geese, coots and breeding red-necked grebes, and you can often spot red kites gliding over the area. You can enter the dog park from Holbækvej, Solvej and Vestervej.
