Kalundborg has a beautiful setting on Kalundborg Fjord in western Zealand, where the town meets the water and the hilly landscape of north-west Zealand. Around the town the scenery alternates between woodland, coast and open fields, and a quiet path or a stretch of fjord is rarely far away. That makes Kalundborg a convenient base for dog walks all year round.

In and around Kalundborg you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks. Klosterskov Hundeskov and Høng Skov, both fenced, offer woodland with shade and good paths, while Svebøller Hundepark is a fenced dog park where your dog can safely run free off-lead.

Several places have room for both long walks and active play with agility equipment, so puppies and adult dogs alike can join in.

Kalundborg Fjord invites you to walk along the water, but note the rules on ordinary beaches: on a lead from 1 April to 30 September, and running free only from 1 October to 31 March - always under control.

If you want to let your dog swim and romp freely all year, you need to find an official dog beach where this is allowed. Otherwise the fjord paths and nearby woods are a lovely alternative all year.
