Dog parks in and near Sorø

Sorø is a classic Zealand lake town, set by Sorø Sø and the old academy woods. The town lies in a quiet landscape of woodland, lakes and rolling fields, with paths and green spaces in every direction. It is hard to find a better place to walk your dog in central Zealand.

In and around Sorø there are several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks with plenty of room to play and run. Kongskilde and Sorø Hundeskov are among the best known in the area, and to the north the fenced Jyderups hundeskov i Dyremoseskoven offers a woodland floor and shade. Several of the places have agility equipment, and there are also fenced areas where puppies and untrained dogs can safely be let off the lead.

Sorø is a lake town, not a coastal town, and the nature around it is shaped by woodland and fresh water. At the lakes your dog can cool off where this is allowed, but remember that it must be under control in the woods. The woodland walks give shade in summer and shelter in winter, so the area can be used all year round.
