Korsør Lystskov

The dog park is in Korsør Lystskov, a municipal forest of about 130 hectares, mostly old beech, just south of Korsør and facing the Great Belt (Storebælt). The dog wood (hundeskov) itself is about 0.7 hectares and is divided into a smaller and a larger fenced area, so big and small or more timid dogs can be kept apart. The fenced area is on the forest floor, shaded by tall trees, and the ground is soil and leaves, so rain can make it a bit muddy. The dog park lies between two protected ancient monuments, Runddyssen and Langdyssen. Langdyssen is about 40 metres long and around 6,000 years old. Drive along Skovvej and turn in at Lystskov Camping. Parking in the forest is free, and the dog park is open day and night at no charge. If you want a longer walk, the forest has three waymarked trails of 2-6 km, a stretch of coast with views over the Great Belt and a beach with an accessible toilet in the southern part of the forest. Outside the dog park, dogs must be on a lead. Between 1 October and 31 October, however, you may let your dog off the lead on the beach.
