Dog parks on Rømø
On Rømø you'll find a total of 3 dog parks, city dog parks and off-leash areas (not fenced) for your dog. All 3 are fenced and 1 is a dog beach.
Rømø is one of the large islands of the Wadden Sea, and its nature is both wild and wide open. To the west stretches one of the widest sandy beaches in Northern Europe, edged by dunes and heath, while the Wadden Sea to the east offers a unique marshland landscape with rich birdlife. The open expanses and plantations make the island a fantastic place for long walks with your dog.
Rømø has a couple of quiet dog parks in the island's plantations, where you can walk your dog sheltered among pines and dune heath. Kirkeby Plantage Hundeskov and Vråby plantage hundeskov, both fenced, offer shade and plenty of space away from traffic. The woods are a good alternative when the west wind picks up out on the coast.
The coast is Rømø's big attraction, and the wide beaches invite long walks. On ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September; only from 1 October to 31 March may your dog run off-lead, always under control. At Lakolk there is also a dog beach where your dog may swim and run off-lead all year round.
