Dog parks in and near Ribe

Ribe lies in the flat marshland of Southern Jutland facing Vadehavet (the Wadden Sea). It is Denmark's oldest town, with wide views over meadows, river and coast.

The broad, flat landscape and the nearby sea make a unique setting for long walks with your dog. Within a few kilometres you will find marsh, plantation and open beach.

In and around Ribe you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks within a radius of the town. Stensbæk Plantage and Kirkeby Plantage Hundeskov, both fenced, offer woodland and shelter in otherwise open country, and on Rømø and Fanø there are plantations such as Fanø Plantage Hundeskov (fenced).

Several places have agility equipment and plenty of room for puppies.

Ribe is close to the coast, and along Vadehavet the wide sandy beaches stretch along Rømø and Fanø with high dunes. On Rømø lies Lakolk Strand (fenced), an official dog beach where your dog may swim and run off-lead all year.

On ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control.
