Dog parks in and near Esbjerg

Esbjerg lies on Vadehavet (the Wadden Sea) on the West Coast of Jutland, where marshland, dune plantations and the open sea shape the landscape.

The town has green spaces close to the centre and is a short distance from the large plantations and the rugged, beautiful coast, giving you plenty of opportunity for long walks with your dog in all weathers.

In and around Esbjerg you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks, where your dog can walk sheltered by the pine and spruce of the dune plantations. Sdr. Plantage Hundeskov near Varde and Ål Plantage near Oksbøl are among the places with shade, forest floor and plenty of space, and several of the areas have agility and areas for puppies. The variation between plantation and open dune landscape makes every walk different.

Esbjerg is a coastal town, and both Vadehavet and the Danish North Sea coast are within reach. On the official dog beaches your dog may swim and run off-lead all year, while on ordinary beaches it must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March - always under control.

Dunes and wide sandy beaches give your dog room to feel the wind in its coat, as long as the rules are followed.
