Dog parks in Fanø Municipality (Fanø Kommune)

Fanø Municipality is an island in the Wadden Sea off Esbjerg, known for its wide beaches, high dunes and heather-covered dune plantations. The island's nature is open and windswept, and the peaceful woodland gives shelter when the westerly wind picks up. It is a very special place to walk your dog, right in the middle of the national park.

Fanø has a couple of dog parks where your dog can get out on the forest floor and among the dunes. Fanø Plantage Hundeskov and Kikkebjerg Hundeskov are both on the island and offer shade and shelter among pines and dunes. There is plenty of room for long walks away from traffic.

Fanø's dune plantations and heathland invite quiet nature walks all year. If you head out onto the island's beaches, remember that on ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on an official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year.
