Dog parks on Fanø

On Fanø you'll find the wide, flat sandy beach and rolling dunes that make this Wadden Sea island so special. Behind the dunes lie plantations, heath and salt meadows, and the fresh west wind follows you all the way. It's a vast, airy landscape where both you and your dog can breathe deeply and take long walks.

The island's dog parks are tucked away in peaceful plantations, where the conifers give shelter and shade even on a windy day. In the fenced Fanø Plantage Hundeskov and in Kikkebjerg Hundeskov your dog can sniff along the paths between pine and heather. These are quiet dog parks with plenty of room for play and long runs away from traffic.

Fanø's broad west coast is known for its huge expanses of sand, but remember the rules when you head for the water. On ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on an official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year round, so check the signs before the lead comes off.
