Dog parks in and near Blåvand

Blåvand lies at the very tip of the Danish North Sea coast (Vesterhavet), where wide dunes and the open sea shape the whole area. Behind the beach, dune plantations of pine and mountain pine stretch out under big skies. It is one of the most beautiful places in Denmark to walk a dog.

In and around Blåvand there are several dog parks and dune plantations where your dog can run among the trees, sheltered from the westerly wind. Oksby Hundeskov (Blåvand) is close by, and Blåbjerg Klitplantage offers long paths through the dunes. Several places have plenty of space and a few agility obstacles.

At Blåvand, the North Sea and the wide dunes are an experience in themselves. On ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on official dog beaches may your dog swim and run off-lead all year, so watch for the signs along the coast.
