Dog parks on the West Coast (Vestkysten)

The West Coast runs along the North Sea and is known for miles of sandy beaches, striking dunes and large dune plantations that give shelter from the fresh westerly wind. The landscape is open and scenic, with dune heath, pine forest and wide views over the sea, and the many plantations invite long walks close to the coast. It is one of the best places in the country to enjoy nature with your dog.

On the West Coast, the dog parks are typically spacious dune plantations with woodland, shade and plenty of room to walk. Oksby Hundeskov near Blåvand and Sdr. Plantage near Varde are among the dog parks where your dog can stretch its legs in beautiful nature. Most places are open plantations, but in return they offer plenty of room for play and exercise.

The coast is the West Coast's main attraction, and there is a designated dog beach in the area. On ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on the official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year.
