Femhøjsande Plantage - Ringkøbing Hundeskov

The dog park in Femhøjsande Plantage is about 4 km from the centre of Ringkøbing and covers 35 hectares, equivalent to just under 50 football pitches. Also known as Ringkøbing Hundeskov, it is reached by taking the A15 from Ringkøbing towards Herning. After about 4 km, turn left onto Kærbyvej towards No. The car park is immediately on your right after the turn. At the western end of the plantation, there is a simple nature campsite with tables, benches, a barbecue and rubbish bins. The forest is also suitable for visitors with limited mobility and wheelchair users, thanks to its many wide paths with firm surfaces. Orienteering checkpoints are dotted around the forest, and laminated maps are available to borrow free of charge at the entrance. The forest has both deciduous and coniferous trees, with open clearings as well as densely wooded areas. You are welcome to explore between the trees. There are also excellent mountain bike trails that you can enjoy on foot with your dog. Cyclists have priority on the marked cycle route, however, so please be considerate of other users. This dog park is well worth visiting, whether you want your dog to play with other dogs or simply want to enjoy a woodland walk without a lead. There is plenty of room for everyone, and it is one of the few dog parks where you can walk for several hours without exploring the whole area.
