Dog parks in West Jutland (Vestjylland)

West Jutland (Vestjylland) is a vast region rich in nature, with open heathland, large plantations, fjords such as Ringkøbing Fjord and the Danish North Sea coast to the west. The landscape is shaped by flat expanses, dunes along the coast and quiet woodland with big skies and plenty of space. That makes West Jutland a lovely place for long dog walks in peaceful surroundings.

In West Jutland you will find woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks, where the plantations offer woodland, shelter and plenty of room for exercise. Klosterheden near Kobbelhøje and Blåbjerg Klitplantage near Lønne are among the dog parks where your dog can stretch its legs in beautiful countryside. Most places are open plantations rather than fenced dog parks, but in return there is lots of space.

West Jutland has both fjord coast and the beaches of the Danish North Sea coast, but there is no official dog beach in the region itself. On ordinary beaches, dogs must therefore be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. If you want to let your dog swim freely all year round, head for an official dog beach.
