Dog parks in and near Ringkøbing

Ringkøbing lies on the large Ringkøbing Fjord, with the Danish North Sea coast just behind the dunes to the west. The town is surrounded by dune plantations, meadows and fjord shore in a wide open West Jutland landscape. That means lots of space and fresh air for long dog walks along the water and through the woods.

In and around Ringkøbing you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks within reach of the town. Femhøjsande Plantage near Ringkøbing and Vester Husby Plantage Hundeskov offer dune forest, shelter and soft paths, and further out there are places such as Ulfborg Hundeskov. The plantations give shade and plenty of space to vary the walk with the seasons.

Ringkøbing is close to the coast, and out towards the Danish North Sea coast wide sandy beaches stretch out behind high dunes. Here dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on official dog beaches may your dog swim and run off-lead all year round.
