Dog parks on the Danish North Sea coast (Vesterhavet)

The Danish North Sea coast forms Denmark's western edge and is known for its vast sandy beaches, high dunes and large dune plantations stretching along the sea. The scenery is open and rugged, with fresh sea air, dune heath and pine forest, and the many plantations offer shelter and good routes close to the coast. It is a unique landscape for dog owners who love wind, water and wide horizons.

Along the Danish North Sea coast (Vesterhavet), the dog parks are often large dune plantations with woodland, shade and lots of space. Oksby Hundeskov near Blåvand and Blokhus Klitplantage Hundeskov are among the dog parks where you can go on long walks in beautiful nature. Most places are open plantations, but in return they offer plenty of room to stretch your legs.

The coast is of course the big draw here, and there is a designated dog beach in the area. On ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on the official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year.
