Dog parks in North Zealand (Nordsjælland)

North Zealand is known for its large, unbroken woods, clear lakes and the beautiful Kattegat coast to the north. From the deep beech and conifer woods of Gribskov to the rolling landscapes around Esrum Sø, there is plenty of nature to explore, and the many paths make it easy to find new routes. The mix of woodland, lake and coast makes the region one of the most attractive places in Zealand for dog walks.

In North Zealand you will find a wide choice of dog parks, woodland and fenced, and many are in woods with good shade. Sperrestrup Skov near Ølstykke and Præstevang are among the well-known places, and several dog parks have room to play and agility equipment.

The terrain alternates between dense woods and more open grassy dog parks, so there are routes for both active and calm dogs.

The north coast has long beaches facing the Kattegat, and the region has several official dog beaches where your dog may swim and run off-lead all year round.

On ordinary beaches, your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Places such as Liseleje make lovely starting points - choose a recognised dog beach if you want to swim together.
