Dog parks in and near Helsinge

Helsinge lies in the middle of North Zealand, a short distance from Gribskov, Arresø and the north coast stretching from Tisvilde to Gilleleje. The town is surrounded by woodland, heath and dunes, and it is rarely far to either shade under the trees or salty air from the Kattegat. It is a dream of an area to walk a dog in.

In and around Helsinge there are several dog parks, from plantations on the coast to quieter woodland inland. In Liseleje Plantage you and your dog can take long walks among pines and dunes, while Store Lyngby Skov Hundehave offers a fenced area where you can safely let your dog off the lead. The terrain alternates between woodland floor, open plains and coastal nature.

With the north coast so close, the beach is a regular part of dog life around Helsinge, and the area has both dunes and an official dog beach. On ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on the official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year, so follow the signs at the beach access.
