Selskov

Selskov Hundeskov is one of four areas in Gribskov designated as a dog wood (hundeskov), and at 43 hectares it is one of the largest areas in North Zealand where dogs can run off-lead. It is a hilly wood with tall trees and good paths, with a picnic table and benches roughly in the middle of the wood and another in the northern part. Because the area is so large, you rarely meet many other dogs, which makes it well suited to training, with plenty of space and quiet to work in. Two things to watch out for. The wood mixes conifers and broadleaf trees, and in those parts the risk of ticks is high, and mosquitoes can be plentiful in season - check your dog after the walk. Riders also often use the wood, so keep your dog under control when you meet horses. The entrance can be hard to find the first time. There is parking for about six cars. Entry is free. Hillerød is 3 km away, Fredensborg 8 km and Allerød 10 km.
