Dog parks in and near Hillerød

Hillerød lies in the heart of North Zealand, with Frederiksborg Slot (the castle), the castle lakes and the large Gribskov as its nearest neighbours. The town is surrounded by woods, lakes and hilly terrain, and the forest floor or the water's edge is rarely far away. That makes Hillerød one of the greenest places on Zealand to have a dog.

In and around Hillerød there are several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks, from the dog-friendly areas of Frederiksborg Slotshave to quieter woods such as Præstevang and Selskov (not fenced). You will find vast dog parks with shade and networks of paths as well as areas with plenty of room to play and run. Head, for example, to Ravnsholt Skov or Tokkekøb Hegn (not fenced) when your dog needs to stretch its legs in real forest.

Hillerød is not on the coast, but it offers woods, lakes and river valleys in abundance. At the castle lakes and in Gribskov you can take long walks along the water, and the woods give shade in summer and shelter in winter. The mix of dense forest, open plains and lakeshores makes every walk different.
