Tokkekøb Hegn

Just east of Lillerød in beautiful North Zealand lies Tokkekøb Hegn, home to one of the very largest off-lead areas in the region. With a huge 135 hectares, there is almost endless space to exercise your dog, making the forest a perfect destination for really long, active outings. The forest offers magnificent nature with ancient trees, small woodland lakes and varied terrain. It's a lovely sight for the humans and a real paradise of exciting scents for the dog. The large scale also means there is always plenty of room to get away from the crowds and find your own peaceful routes along the many criss-crossing forest paths. It is important to stress that this huge off-lead area is not fenced. It works as an open nature dog park where the area blends naturally into the surrounding forest. With no physical fence, you need a solid, reliable recall before unclipping the lead, especially as the forest has rich wildlife and is used by many other visitors. If you come by car, you can park for example at Dæmpegårdsvej or at the entrances along Kongevejen.
