Farmors Hundepark

If your four-legged friend deserves a little extra pampering, Farmors Hundepark on Damsholtevej in Gunderød is an obvious place to go. The park lies centrally in North Zealand, a short drive from Kokkedal, Hørsholm and Hillerød. It was created by Charlotte, a 70-year-old dog owner and grandmother, who has turned her five tønder land property into an inviting paradise for dogs. As an extra cosy touch, there is a dog café where you can enjoy a cup of coffee after your time outdoors. The park also works with dog trainer Anne Hedegaard, whom you can book sessions with. The concept is based on an online booking system: you hire one of the fully fenced areas and have it entirely to yourself, or share it with dog friends you invite. The park has three areas for different needs. Area 1 is completely open with no trees. It gives an excellent overview and is very well suited to focused training. Area 2 is a similar open area but with some interesting scrub along the sides for sniffing and exploring. Area 3 is the perfect choice for the curious nature-loving dog, as this enclosure is richly planted with lots of woodland and dense scrub. Farmors Hundepark is open every day of the week from 06.00 to 21.00. When you book, you first choose the area and the time you want. A standard booking gives you 50 minutes of undisturbed use. It costs DKK 40 for either Area 1 or Area 2, while the nature-rich Area 3 costs DKK 60. If your dog needs even more time to romp around freely, you can book a longer session of one hour and twenty minutes instead (called 1.5 hours in the booking system).
