Dog parks in and near Værløse

Værløse lies north of Copenhagen (København), squeezed between large woods and lakes. The town is surrounded by Hareskoven, Furesø and Søndersø as well as the wide open nature areas on the old air base, so green surroundings are close to almost any address. That makes Værløse an obvious place to walk your dog, whether you head through old beech wood or along the water.

In and around Værløse you'll find a string of woodland dog parks and fenced dog parks where your dog can stretch its legs on the forest floor and in the shade. Hareskovene (the Hareskov woods) at Jonstrup Vang and Store Hareskov offer mile after mile of paths, while Nørreskov Hundeskov (fenced) and Bistrup Hegn Hundeskov (not fenced) are safe options.

Several of the places have agility equipment, and close to town you'll find both the fenced dog area at Kollekollevej and Træbanken, where smaller dogs can play in peace.

Værløse is not a coastal town, but it is rich in woodland lakes and wet meadows. At Furesø and Søndersø your dog can have a cooling swim in the fresh water, and the woods around the town give shelter and shade all year round. Remember that in many places your dog must be on a lead out of consideration for the wildlife, while the fenced dog parks give it the freedom to run off-lead.
