Rudersdal Municipality north of Copenhagen (København) is one of the most wooded municipalities in the capital area, with Rude Skov, Jægersborg Hegn and a string of lakes such as Furesø, Sjælsø and Vejlesø. The large continuous forests and hilly terrain make the municipality a paradise for long walks with your dog. Nature feels wild, even though the town is close.

In Rudersdal Municipality you will find several dog parks spread across the towns - Geelsskov, Bistrup Hegn and Trørød Hegn are among the well-known ones, and Rundforbi Hundepark is a fenced option close to town. The forests offer plenty of shade and space, where your dog can run off-lead under control among beech and spruce.

At the lakes your dog can cool off at the water's edge, and to the east the municipality reaches all the way to Øresund (the Sound) at Skodsborg. On ordinary beaches, however, your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March - always under control.

There is no official dog beach in the municipality, so plan your walk to suit the season.
