Blåvand Hundeskov

In Oksby Klitplantage, just before you reach Blåvand, you will find one of Denmark's largest dog parks. With 14 hectares of fenced nature, it offers a fantastic experience for both dog and owner in beautiful West Jutland surroundings. What makes Blåvand Hundeskov special is its very hilly landscape. Here your dog can explore dense mountain pine scrub, whose crooked trees create an almost fairytale feel. This is combined with areas of open oak wood and small grassy clearings with plenty of room to throw a ball and let your dog stretch its legs. The fence runs for 1.8 kilometres and is 180 centimetres high. This lets you take the lead off with confidence, provided you have full control of your dog. As red deer and fallow deer can get past the fence, it is important to be extra considerate and look out for the wood's natural residents on your walk. There is good parking at both ends of the wood: the main car park is just east of the fenced area, and there is also room at the western end. Getting into the wood is very easy, with four gates in total, two on the east side and two on the west. At the large eastern car park you will find tables and benches, perfect for a picnic before or after your walk. If you want to cook a hot meal, there is a fire hut and a barbecue area about 450 metres south-west of the dog park, where you will also find a small woodland playground for children. There are rubbish bins for dog bags at all entrances, so it is easy to pick up after your dog, keep nature clean and reduce the risk of infection for other dogs.
