Dog parks in and near Herning

Herning lies in the middle of the Central Jutland heathland, surrounded by plantations, former lignite mining areas and open heath, which make for a very special, wide-open terrain. Løvbakkerne north of the town and the many plantations around it offer woods, hills and long views. It is a paradise for active dogs that love space and scents.

In and around Herning there is a large choice of woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks, from Løvbakkerne Hundeskov (fenced) to plantations and former lignite mining areas. You will find vast dog parks with woods and shade, agility equipment in several places and private dog parks (for hire) for those who want to train in a smaller group. Try, for example, the fenced Gullestrup Hundeskov or Haunstrup Brunkulslejer, where the terrain is hilly and exciting.

Herning is an inland town, and nature here is about woods, heath and plantations rather than coast. The many dog parks offer shelter under the trees, hilly paths in the former lignite mining areas and open spaces where your dog can stretch its legs. Whatever the season, there is shade in summer and shelter from the wind in winter, so you can enjoy walks all year round.
