Dog parks in Central Jutland (Midtjylland)

Central Jutland lies at the heart of the peninsula and has some of Denmark's most varied nature, with the hills of Søhøjlandet (the lake highlands), large lakes, wide heaths and dark conifer plantations. From the wooded ridges of Silkeborg to the open heathland there is a lot of contrast, and the area invites everything from short woodland walks to long hikes. The varied nature makes Central Jutland an ideal place to walk your dog.

In Central Jutland (Midtjylland) you'll find a solid choice of woodland dog parks and fenced dog parks, and many of them are in woodland with good shade. Nordskov Hundeskov near Silkeborg and Løvbakkerne Hundeskov are among the well-known places, and several fenced dog parks offer a puppy area and agility. The terrain alternates between dense plantations and more open grassy dog parks, so there's room for both play and quiet walks.

Central Jutland is inland country, where a swim usually means a lake or river valley rather than the open sea. On both lake shores and beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. If you want to go out to a coast where your dog may swim and run off-lead all year round, you need to find a proper dog beach.
