Dog parks in and near Viborg

Viborg is an old cathedral town in the middle of Jutland, beautifully set by Nørresø and Søndersø, with Hald Sø and the large heathland plantations within reach. The landscape alternates between hills, lakes, woodland and open heath. This gives you a wealth of options for walking your dog in varied countryside.

In and around Viborg there are several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks with plenty of room to stretch the legs. Undallslund hundeskov, which is fenced, is close to town, while Dollerup Bakker near Inderø and Viborg Hedeplantage (not fenced) offer hilly terrain and woodland floor.

Several of the places have a puppy area, and you can choose between plantation and broadleaf woodland to suit your dog's temperament.

Viborg isn't on the coast, but the lakes and woods offer plenty of water and nature. At Hald Sø and Viborgsøerne (the Viborg lakes) your dog can cool off, and the surrounding plantations give shelter and shade all year. Please note that your dog must be on a lead outside the fenced dog parks, out of consideration for wildlife.
