Sønderskov Hundeskov (Fussingø)

Fussingø Hundeskov, also known as Sønderskov Hundeskov, is a large, scenic fenced off-lead area in the woods west of Randers. It covers an impressive area of just under 6 hectares (almost 60,000 square metres), a good 8 football pitches, giving plenty of room for daily exercise. Note that the dog park has recently moved to Udskovene at Trehøje and is therefore further from Fussing Sø than before. This dog park stands out by being an integral part of untouched woodland, which gives a wonderful, authentic nature experience. There is a well-laid network of paths in pleasantly varied terrain: you can take a longer walk of about 1 kilometre around the woods, or a shorter 400-metre route limited to the northern part of the dog park. Inside the fence of Fussingø Hundeskov there are two open areas with picnic tables and benches, so there is plenty of chance to rest while the dogs run, play and sniff the forest floor. Just outside the southern entrance there is another picnic table with benches and a very handy water point, where both dog and owner can quench their thirst after an active walk. The off-lead area is safely fenced with fixed gates, so dogs can be off-lead. As always, though, you must have full control of your dog and be able to call it back at any time. You can park at the junction of Nørre Ålumvej and Kardamsvej. Outside the fence of Fussingø Hundeskov, your dog must always be on a lead out of consideration for other visitors to the woods.
