Langå Hundeskov

Langå Hundeskov is just past the sewage treatment plant (Rensningsanlægget) at Mosevej 20, 8870 Langå. It is a scenic, overgrown area of protected woodland (fredskov) of just under one hectare, with an adjoining puppy area of 2800 m2. The dog park borders a wetland and is only 150 metres from Gudenåen (the river Gudenå). After a walk in the dog park, you can put your dog on a lead and follow the paths down to Gudenåen, where Trækstien awaits. This nature trail follows Gudenåen from Silkeborg to Randers - about 70 km in total. Langå Hundeskov is accessible for disabled visitors. This means that room has been made so that everyone can get into the wood, including people who use a wheelchair. The paths are made of stone dust, which sets hard. The paths are 2 metres wide, and the entrance has been specially designed so that wheelchairs have room to turn and can get in without any problems. The table and bench sets are accessible for disabled visitors, so everyone can sit and enjoy nature and a cup of coffee. The puppy area is 2800 m2, and Støtteforening Langå Hundeskov (the support association) keeps the grass cut. Around the large trees, about 2 metres out, the grass is left long and flowers are allowed to grow, so the insects get their share too. Stone bowls let you pour in fresh water for the dogs. Langå Hundeskov is decorated with wooden sculptures by the artist and lumberjack Torben Møller.
