Lystrup is north of Aarhus, a short way from woods, river valleys and the coast of Aarhusbugten. The town is surrounded by green corridors, where paths and woodland make everyday dog walks easy and varied.
In and near Lystrup you will find a good mix of woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks. Several places have agility and plenty of room for free play, and the woods give shade on hot days. Drop by Skødstrup Skov (not fenced), for example, or Vestereng, which is close to town and a popular dog area.
The coast at Aarhusbugten is within reach if you want to walk your dog by the water. Remember that dogs on ordinary beaches must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March - and always under control. If your dog is to swim and run off-lead all year, you need to find an official dog beach.
