Dog parks in Aarhus Municipality (Aarhus Kommune)

Aarhus Municipality lies on Aarhusbugten (Aarhus Bay) in East Jutland and has everything from dense beech woods and hilly moraine landscape to a long strip of coast facing Kattegat. The woods roll down to the water, and river valleys and lakes break up the landscape.

It is a big-city municipality with an unusual amount of nature close by, and many green spaces are just minutes from the centre. Ideal for dog owners who want both woodland and coast.

In Aarhus Municipality you will find a large choice of woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks spread across the city's suburbs and surrounding villages. Mollerup Skov and True Skov are among the large woodland areas with shade and room to run, while Tranbjerg Park and Solbjerg Hundeskov, both fenced, are closer to residential areas. Several of the places have agility and puppy areas, and the choice covers both broadleaf woodland and more open areas.

With the coast on Aarhusbugten, there are plenty of chances to combine a woodland walk with a swim. On ordinary beaches, dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on official dog beaches may your dog swim and run off-lead all year round, so keep an eye on the signs by the water.
