Dog parks in and near Harlev J

Harlev J lies west of Aarhus, where the town meets the hilly Søhøjlandet (the lake district) with Aarhus Å, Brabrand Sø and the many lakes around Ry, Skanderborg and Silkeborg. The landscape is green and rolling, with broadleaf woods, river valleys and open country right on your doorstep. It is hard to find a better place for varied and scenic dog walks in East Jutland.

In and around Harlev J there are several dog parks spread across the lake district towards Ry, Galten and Silkeborg. There are both spacious woodland dog parks with trees and shade and fenced dog parks where you can safely let your dog off the lead, and a couple of places offer private fenced dog areas. Head for example to the fenced Galten (Klank) Hundeskov or Ry Hundeskov when your dog needs to stretch its legs in the fresh air.

The area around Harlev J is marked by woodland, river valleys and the large lakes, and several of the dog parks are close to the water. Many dogs can have a dip at the lakeshores, but always watch the local signs, show consideration for others and keep the lead ready where there is wildlife and other visitors. The woods give shade in summer and shelter in winter, so the walks can be enjoyed all year.
