Hundensgaard Hundeskov

Hundensgaard Hundeskov is a private, fully fenced woodland on Voldby Hedevej on the edge of Hammel. It runs on a self-booking concept, so you can exercise your dog safely and off-lead without the risk of unexpected meetings with other dogs. The fenced area covers about 2 hectares (20.000 m²) and is split into one large fenced area and two smaller ones. When you book a slot, you automatically get exclusive access to the fenced areas on both sides of the farm's gravel track. The terrain offers varied nature, with trees - a mix of broadleaf and spruce - planted in 2016 and still growing. The large fenced area has a big open meadow with plenty of room for dogs to run fast and play. A stream also runs through it, where dogs are free to splash about. To make life easy for owners, two bridges made of sturdy railway sleepers let you cross the stream with dry feet. As the wood is private, every visit requires advance online booking and payment by card or MobilePay. You can hire the wood for 30 minutes (DKK 50), 1 hour (DKK 100) or 1,5 hours (DKK 150), and regular users can buy a discounted multi-visit card. The wood is normally open every day from 10 to 17, but may be closed for maintenance or when dog training classes are held at Hundensgaard itself, which is run by a qualified dog trainer. To make the closed concept work for everyone, there are some fixed rules. When you enter the wood, either hang your lead visibly on the gate or lock it with the chain and padlock provided, so the next visitors can clearly see the area is in use. You must always pick up after your dog - also among the trees - and use the bins provided, so the area stays clean and inviting.
