Lakolk Strand

Hundeområde Lakolk lies behind the dunes at Lakolk Strand on Rømø and is one of three fenced areas on the island where your dog can run free. It is not an ordinary grass field. The area lies between the dunes with bushes and small paths, which gives your dog plenty to explore. At 0.6 hectares, on the other hand, it is easy to keep an eye on. In winter, from 1 October to 1 April, your dog may also run off-lead on Lakolk Strand itself. In the summer half of the year, dogs must be on a lead on the beach, and the fenced area is then the alternative. Two things to know. In rainy weather the ground gets soft, and wellies are a good idea. And the grass is long at times when it has not been cut. Drive out along Vesterhavsvej past the campsite - at the information stand there are signs to the dog area. Entry is free, and the area is run by Naturstyrelsen Vadehavet (the Danish Nature Agency).
