Dog parks in Tønder Municipality (Tønder Kommune)

Tønder Municipality lies in the far south-west by the Wadden Sea and the German border, where the flat marshland meets the North Sea. The landscape is wide and open, with marsh meadows, plantations and the island of Rømø with its broad beaches. The big sky and long horizons give you exceptional space for walks with your dog.

Tønder Municipality has several dog parks in its plantations. Kirkeby Plantage and Renbæk Plantage offer woodland, shade and good paths, and near Løgumkloster and Toftlund you will find dog parks close to town. The plantations are spread across the municipality, so woods and shelter are within reach in most places.

Rømø has some of the widest beaches in Denmark, and at Lakolk your dog can come right down to the Danish North Sea coast (Vesterhavet). On the official dog beach dogs may swim and run off-lead all year, while on ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may run off-lead under control from 1 October to 31 March.
