Dog parks in Southern Jutland (Sønderjylland)

Southern Jutland (Sønderjylland) runs along the Danish-German border and is known for its gentle, rolling landscape with broadleaf woods, marshland to the west and beautiful fjords such as Flensburg Fjord. The countryside shifts from open meadows and hills to dense woodland, and the many paths and plantations make the region ideal for long dog walks. There is plenty of space and peace, whether your walk takes you through the woods or along the coast.

Southern Jutland has a good mix of woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks with trees and shade, and several places offer agility and a puppy area. Frøslev Plantage near the border (not fenced) and Nørreskov in Aabenraa are among the popular dog parks, with plenty of room to stretch your legs. A few of the parks are fenced, so your dog can run off-lead in a safe fenced dog area.

The coast of Southern Jutland ranges from calm fjords to the beaches of the Danish North Sea coast, and there is a designated dog beach in the region. On ordinary beaches, dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on the official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year round.
