Haderslev lies at the head of Haderslev Fjord, with the long Haderslev Dam and large, old woods reaching right into town. The mix of fjord, lake and woodland makes it one of the most varied natural areas in Southern Jutland for dog owners.
In and around Haderslev you will find a wealth of dog parks within a radius of the town. The fenced Haderslev Vesterskov Hundeskov and Tapsøre Hundeskov offer large, shady areas of woodland, and the area has both agility and a puppy area for the youngest dogs.
By the fjord and the coast there is an official dog beach, where your dog may swim and run off-lead all year. On ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control.
