Dog parks in and near Holbæk

Holbæk sits beautifully at the head of Holbæk Fjord, where hilly north-west Zealand meets the water. The town is surrounded by woods, fjord meadows and rolling farmland, and a quiet gravel track or a patch of nature where dog and owner can stretch their legs is rarely far away. The combination of fjord and woodland makes Holbæk an obvious base for walks all year round.

In and around Holbæk you will find a good handful of woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks, ranging from coastal woodland to areas in town. Hundeskov i Bognæs Skov, which is fenced, and Høve Skov offer tall woodland with shade and shelter, while several places have agility equipment, so active dogs get a challenge.

If you want a fenced dog park close by, there are also options in town such as Vipperrød Hundelegeplads, where puppies and nervous dogs can run free behind a fence.

Holbæk Fjord offers plenty of walks along the water, but remember the lead rules on ordinary beaches: from 1 April to 30 September your dog must be on a lead, and only from 1 October to 31 March may it run free along the beach - always under full control. If you want your dog to swim and romp freely all year, you need to find an official dog beach where this is allowed. Otherwise the fjord paths and nearby woods are a lovely alternative all year.
