Sønder Jernløse Hundepark

Sønder Jernløse Hundepark, best known locally as Silverpark, is a recreational fenced off-lead area of just under 1 hectare, north-east of Sønder Jernløse. The dog park is laid out on the site of the former local sports ground, and it is naturally surrounded by large, dense shelter belts that give the area a good natural boundary. The conversion from disused football pitches to dog park and nature area grew out of a strong local initiative. In spring 2023 the area was transformed in a collaboration between Holbæk Municipality, local enthusiasts and the organisation Plant et Træ. 60 pupils from Sønder Jernløse Lilleskole helped plant trees and build brushwood fences. Besides serving as an exercise area for dogs, the site also includes a flower meadow. The dog park is easy to reach on foot, as it connects directly to the existing, well-used path network, which includes Skolestien, Præstemarken and Sognestien. If you come by car, there is a car park right by the entrance.
