Dog parks in and near Hvalsø

Hvalsø lies in hilly Midtsjælland (central Zealand), surrounded by some of Zealand's largest woods and a wealth of lakes and river valleys. Bidstrupskovene stretch out just outside town, and the landscape alternates between broadleaf woods, fields and quiet lakeshores. That makes Hvalsø one of the most obvious places on Zealand for long dog walks in nature.

In and around Hvalsø there is a rich choice of woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks. Storskoven in Bidstrupskovene and Boserup Skov (fenced) offer miles of paths through tall broadleaf woodland with plenty of shade and shelter, while the fenced dog area in Hyrdehøj Skov and several other fenced spots give a safe setting where puppies and nervous dogs can run off-lead. Some places also have agility equipment, so an active dog can get moving.

Even though Hvalsø is inland, there is plenty of water in the landscape - the woodland lakes and river valleys make a lovely setting and a cool spot for your dog on hot days.
